Oh, hello! I've been itching to make this dish but was too busy last week to do so. As we know, everything happens for a reason - as you'll soon discover!

Beautiful porcini tagliatelle from @tuscanfarmshop with brown butter, roasted chestnuts, pistachio pecorino - also from the shop - with the last-minute addition of fresh black Italian truffle from @giddensthompson

This dish was so earthy, so delicious, and I am definitely in my happy foodie place! It has been a while since I cooked properly, and this ticked every box going. All it needed was some fresh herbs... 🌿 next time!

A fun morning/afternoon @snellingskitchens @geraldgiles.co.uk today for their coffee morning. Savoury muffins with feta, sun-dried tomato, and charred peppers, plus giant dark chocolate cookies, were the order of the day - enjoyed alongside fresh coffee from the impressive new @kitchenaid_uk coffee machine.

Thank you to all who came and enjoyed. It was great to see so many people buying local!

A beautiful shoulder of mutton seared and ready for a long slow roast. I've kept it simple - fresh bay and rosemary, garlic and red onion, and red wine.

I've kept the temperature low and will give it around four hours before starting the veg - including new season Brussels sprouts! Yes, I am excited that my favourite vegetable is back in town!

What a delicious meal we enjoyed last night for my dad's 80th. It's been a wonderful week of celebrations, topped off with my menu.

It was a great cook and fun to select some of dad's favourite dishes over the years. They were all delicious, but I loved the beetroot dish and the sublime salmon, cured in @tamnavulinwhisky

Today is definitely a day to chill with Mishkins and have a relaxed evening catching up with last night's Strictly.

I've not made soda bread for years - I'm not sure why. I'm a smidge more than a quarter Irish, and it is one of the quickest breads to make.

Monday was my dad's 80th birthday, so I am cooking a special tasting menu tonight. It's five courses, with wines, based on some of dad's favourite dishes that I've cooked over the years.

I decided to keep two of the dishes simple - and have some freshly made soda bread on the table for people to help themselves to.

It looks so good - and is made with @hodmedods whole wheat flour and @oldhallfarm raw Jersey milk.

I have had to fight the urge to break a bit off and try it - and now I'm alone in the kitchen, I just might!

Lemon drizzle cake - I also made lemon drizzle muffins, not pictured.

It was so lovely to see so many people through the door and to also end up having a rather large audience to cook for - so many of whom asked questions!

The @kitchenaid_uk was on the go for most of the day, although I did the scones by hand, resulting in the lightest, fluffiest scones - delicious!

Congratulations to Snellings on their 70th anniversary, and thank you for inviting me to be a part of it.

A busy and tasty morning @waylandshow judging the Home Produce Section. There were some real standouts and the best in section could have easily gone to more than one exhibitor.

Congratulations to all, I'm now home and catching up with Olympic action.

Another cooking demo in the bag! Today was at @worsteadfestival on the @native2norfolk stage.

I made the fluffiest flatbreads using @oldhallfarm raw Skyr style yoghurt, and topped these with a mixture of yoghurt and tahini, spinach, and caramelised peppers in @belazu_co sour cherry molasses.

The star of the dish was rare breed pasture-fed rump steak from Old Hall Farm, marinaded in a mix of @tuscanfarmshop extra virgin olive oil, @steenbergsltd Lebanese spice mix, and @freshherbsalt original herb salt.

I finished the dish with a drizzle each of the sour cherry molasses and @yarevalleyoils cold-pressed infused lemon rapeseed oil. The plate is @norfolkpottery_ollandsfarmbarn - and is now on my wishlist!

It was a delicious plate of food - and the audience seemed to think so, too!

My traditional football finals dinner has just gon

My traditional football finals dinner has just gone in the oven - kleftiko, done to the brilliant @chefrickstein recipe which I have been using for years.

I have added extra garlic as I feel in need of a boost, and also a graffiti aubergine that needed eating. As well as feta at the end, I will also add some spinach, making this power-packed kleftiko!

The dish will be ready in time for the England Football Finals, and it will go down nicely with my New Zealand Pinot Noir, which is currently breathing.

The lamb comes from @palfreyandhall and the veggies from @giddensthompson with @freshherbsalt and @yarevalleyoils both making an appearance. See you in a few hours!

A summer barbecue doesn't have to be off just because it is raining!

I used my @ninjakitchenuk outdoor woodfire electric bbq to do spatchcock roast chicken and new potatoes. It's absolutely delicious and so simple!

For the chicken, I simply rubbed extra virgin olive oil 🫒 onto the skin, then scattered dried oregano, a very good grind of black pepper, and a sprinkle of sea salt. The chicken then rested while I cooked the potatoes.

Just add salad and dressing, and tuck in!

Crumpets toasted in the air fryer - by far the best way - then topped with leftover tomato sauce from last night's pasta and some Cheddar cheese. Bellissimo!
