A lovely afternoon courtesy of my mum - cocktails at the gorgeous Mayfair in Bungay. Such a beautiful place and fantastic, and unique, cocktails! We will be back!

It was a school start to the day at the fabulous @

It was a school start to the day at the fabulous @oldschoolcoffeeltd in Beccles. Toasted banana bread, cinnamon bun, and fresh, hot, perfectly made coffee. If you haven't discovered this gem of a coffee shop yet, I recommend you do soon!

Starting the long weekend the right way with soft-

Starting the long weekend the right way with soft-boiled eggs and @marmite soldiers.

The bread is homemade, packed full of seeds. The eggs are served the way my nanna always did - we believe the way her German family did, topped with a dab of butter and a pinch of salt.

Delicious and comforting.

Well, Happy Easter! Continuing the Middle Eastern

Well, Happy Easter! Continuing the Middle Eastern vibes from my last two weeks of travel, I did this stupendous lamb and rice dish.

The recipe came from @spinneysuae and the lamb was a local Herdwick from my brilliant butchers, @theforequarter in Bungay.

Marinaded overnight in @fage_uk
Greek yoghurt and @norfolksaffron with wet garlic from @giddensthompson it was then slow cooked for 2.5 hours.

The rice was a wonderful tumble of spices, including @steenbergsltd galangal, and it all came together beautifully.

We washed the lamb down with a very special @flintvineyard Pinot Noir 2022. It is honestly a wine to rival the very best of New World reds. Oh! And we opened with a treat - and 2016 Blanc de Noirs, also from Flint.

I hope you've all had a lovely day. I think I'm about to have an affogato with homemade ice cream and some dates from @visit.alainoasis And then, relax!

We started at the brilliant @oldschoolcoffeeltd where I enjoyed a Black Forest mocha, Paula a cappuccino. I love the vibe here and the additional space they have.

There are so many fabulous independents in these two market towns, and we should support them all over the chains.

All in all, it was a great start to the week.

I am still channelling the Scandinavian vibe with my brunch today - @kavli_sverige soft cheese with lobster and crayfish mixed with hard-boiled egg, served atop a crisp, sourdough crumpet. Very delicious - and had I still been away, it would no doubt have been adorned with the caviar that is found everywhere in Sweden.

Nowadays, I toast my crumpets in the air fryer. They come out cooked evenly and perfectly crisp. I recommend trying it!

I wish you could smell this! The beginnings of a steak, ale and mushroom pie, with stewing steak from @theforequarter and @grainbrewery Best Bitter. The addition of fresh bay and rosemary from the garden makes this dish smell amazing - and the oven is now doing all the hard work while I relax in front of the fire.

Oh, hello! I've been itching to make this dish but was too busy last week to do so. As we know, everything happens for a reason - as you'll soon discover!

Beautiful porcini tagliatelle from @tuscanfarmshop with brown butter, roasted chestnuts, pistachio pecorino - also from the shop - with the last-minute addition of fresh black Italian truffle from @giddensthompson

This dish was so earthy, so delicious, and I am definitely in my happy foodie place! It has been a while since I cooked properly, and this ticked every box going. All it needed was some fresh herbs... 🌿 next time!

A fun morning/afternoon @snellingskitchens @geraldgiles.co.uk today for their coffee morning. Savoury muffins with feta, sun-dried tomato, and charred peppers, plus giant dark chocolate cookies, were the order of the day - enjoyed alongside fresh coffee from the impressive new @kitchenaid_uk coffee machine.

Thank you to all who came and enjoyed. It was great to see so many people buying local!
