I love to travel and an incredibly fortunate to be able to do so with my day job. April saw me go to the United States for a trip that took me through Nevada, New Mexico, Texas and Florida. I hope you enjoy my snapshot of some of my foodie highlights. 11 April – en route to Heathrow On my way to Heathrow with the essential travel equipment – my reusable cup from Earsham Street Deli in Bungay. I cannot start the day without at least two pints of peppermint tea, and with the early start for my flight, I…

Friday afternoon, and the winter fog is drifting down outside once more. It is 30 December, and it is hard to believe that we are almost at the end of another year. It certainly doesn’t feel like it – I am not quite ready for this year to be over in many ways. It has been one of so many incredible moments. That said, I very much have enjoyed recharging my batteries the past few days, a chance to rest and reset before all the delights that 2017 will very quickly bring. For many, this time of year is one for…

On Thursday evening, Sara and I published the very first Your Gluten Freedom newsletter. The response to Your Gluten Freedom as a whole has been amazing, and it was great to spend two days with Sara, making plans for the coming months. Most notably, this October will see the one-year anniversary of Your Gluten Freedom as we hold our third Expo in Norwich. To keep in touch with our plans, please visit the Your Gluten Freedom website and sign up. As of tomorrow, I am away for a few days in Cornwall, working on my novel and aiming to finally finish…

I am sorry for being so absent – my few days in Las Vegas was very busy, full of migraines and headaches, meetings and work, and then the horse show to focus on too! The food was average in the hotel I was in and was summed up by this cake below… I’d ordered steak for the last night in Vegas, and gone through all the options with my waiter. There was no sauce option for me – even the champagne sauce contains gluten (seriously?!) – so the waiter proudly presented me with a plate of steak with lemon butter sauce, that…

I have almost come to the end of my business part of my Middle Eastern trip – I am just waiting to head to an Arabian horse farm, where I will be doing the commentary. I love seeing breeding programmes and how they develop down the generations, and this will be my first visit to Al Zobair Stud – I am curious! Somehow, this trip has seen me stay on GMT rather than adapt to local time. It wasn’t planned but it has worked out that way – which has also meant that I’ve been eating less as I’m still…

Abu Dhabi was good to me tonight! My friend, Marion, suggested that we go out for dinner, so I had a little look on Doctor Google to see if I could find any hidden treasures that would go down with a Delicate Diner like me. Marion is also trying to eat gluten-free, so I knew that whatever I found would work for her, too. Time Out Abu Dhabi turned up three restaurants worth a look, and one in particular grabbed my attention. This was Jim’s Kitchen Table, located in Masdar City – close to Marion’s home and my hotel –…
